Origin
How Marcus came to teach this.
Marcus came to coaching the long way. Fifteen years as a rugby strength coach at a midsize club, then a season where a player broke down in a poorly programmed off-season gym session that wasn't his. He stopped writing programs for the club the next morning and started writing them for individuals — one person at a time, mostly compound lifts, mostly slow. The waiting list got long. He never advertised. He never raised his rates. He calls it the slowest-growing career he could have built, and the one he'd recommend.
Philosophy
Patience compounds faster than weight. The first month is the only month that really matters — everything after is the second derivative of how seriously you took week one.
