Origin

How Eli came to teach this.

Eli coached marathons in his thirties — a small training group out of a track in suburban Buenos Aires, mostly first-time runners. He realised somewhere between his eighth Boston cycle and his fifteenth Berlin that the principles that worked for runners worked for anyone willing to be steady. He stopped programming for races and started programming for years. His sessions, even the cardio ones, sound like a long quiet conversation with someone who has nowhere else to be.

Philosophy

Endurance is mostly tolerance for boredom, dressed up as fitness. Teach a body to enjoy steady work and it will outlast every clever programming trick.

A phrase you'll never hear in a Eli session: "Crush it."
